About
An AI that's present, not extractive.
Halo is a privacy-first, local-first AI companion that lives in your Mac's notch. It watches the screen, transcribes your calls, learns your patterns, and surfaces help before you ask, and it does it without sending your life to someone else's servers. What happens on your Mac stays on your Mac.
Why we built it
The useful AI assistants all share one assumption: to help you, they have to upload your context. We didn't accept that. Apple Silicon is fast enough to run a capable model on-device, so Halo does: chat, autocomplete, transcription, memory, and recall all run locally by default. The cloud is an option you turn on for the heaviest work, never a requirement.
The privacy is the architecture
Privacy isn't a setting we can quietly change later. It's how Halo is built. Captured frames are deleted after a single read. Audio is transcribed and the raw sound is dropped. Memories are stored as structured summaries, never as screenshots. You can view, export, or delete anything at any time. The privacy page spells out exactly what does and doesn't leave your Mac.
Who's behind Halo
Halo is built by SilverCommerce, a small team that cares more about getting the details right than shipping the most features. We fund the roadmap directly through subscriptions and one-time licences rather than ads or data, because the business model has to match the privacy promise.
