It also keeps your vault searchable in Recall: Halo reads the Markdown files directly, with no plugin and no sync service, so "what did I note about the pricing model?" finds it. Local only, a security-scoped bookmark to the folder you pick, nothing more.

Halo works with Obsidian through the same built-in macOS capabilities Apple's own apps use. There's no account to connect and no key to store.

macOS asks first
The first time Halo needs access, macOS shows its own permission prompt. You decide, and you can revoke it any time in System Settings.

Nothing leaves your Mac
Reading, writing, and understanding all happen on your device. There is no server involved, not even ours.
What stays private
Obsidian is local only: no cloud, no relay, no token. Halo gets a security-scoped bookmark to your vault folder and reads and writes .md files directly. Everything stays on this Mac.
