Link Halo to your Signal account the same way you'd link Signal Desktop: scan a code with your phone, and this Mac becomes one of your linked devices. Nothing goes through a Halo server, and you can unlink it from your phone whenever you like.
Once it's linked, any automation can message you on Signal. It goes to your own Note to Self, so a nudge from your Mac shows up on your phone without a second account or a phone number to pay for.
The first time you connect, Halo downloads Signal's command line tool and a small Java runtime to talk to it, about 190 MB. That happens once and stays on your Mac. Nothing is downloaded until you connect.
